MUSIC MAN MURRAY is an elegant portrait of one of the largest rare-record stores in the world at the hour of its demise and the complicated legacy of the man who built it, octogenarian Murray Gershenz. Faced with steep rent and an untenable business model, Murray - a sensible Jewish intellectual of 88 - knows he must soon unload his collection of a half-million records, housed in a dusty Los Angeles warehouse. But his son Irv still clings to the collection with an almost pathetic obeisance, afraid the end of the store would mean the end of his father.
